Custom stage 1 & stage 2 ECU maps for petrol and diesel vehicles. More power, better torque, improved fuel economy — all from a single software modification.
ECU (Engine Control Unit) remapping is the process of modifying the software that controls your engine. The factory settings in your ECU are deliberately conservative — manufacturers use the same base map across multiple markets with different fuel quality, climate, and emissions regulations. This means your engine is almost certainly not running at its full potential. LutonRemap writes a custom map specifically for your vehicle, unlocking the performance your engine was designed to deliver.
A Stage 1 remap is a pure software modification — no hardware changes required. We connect to your ECU via the OBD port, read the existing map, and write a custom optimised version. This is the most popular and cost-effective upgrade for most vehicles. Typical gains on a diesel engine are 20–40 bhp and 50–80 Nm of torque. Petrol engines typically see 15–25 bhp improvement.
Stage 2 remapping is designed for vehicles with supporting hardware modifications such as an upgraded intercooler, sports exhaust, or high-flow air intake. The ECU map is written to take full advantage of the improved airflow and cooling, resulting in significantly higher power gains than Stage 1 alone.
We remap all makes and models including Volkswagen, Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Ford, Vauxhall, Peugeot, Citroën, Renault, Toyota, Nissan, Land Rover, and more. Both petrol and diesel engines supported.

A remap can affect your manufacturer warranty. However, if your vehicle is out of warranty, this is not a concern. Many tuning companies offer 'stealth' maps that are harder to detect, but we always advise customers to check their warranty situation beforehand.
Yes — when done professionally. LutonRemap writes conservative, safe maps that stay well within the mechanical limits of your engine. We never push components beyond their design tolerances.
A standard Stage 1 remap typically takes 1–2 hours. We can come to your home or workplace across Luton and Bedfordshire.
Yes. We always save your original stock map before making any changes. If you ever want to return to factory settings, we can restore it.
